The faraway place.

There is a place far away.
Where a breeze comes,
And makes the trees sway.
Through the leaves,
The sun beams stream.
It is a place from a dream.
It’s a place so peaceful, simple and true.
It carries the innocence of a child’s heart too.
But long ago, this place held,
The strangest tale of all tales.

A story of love, loss and rebirth,
A story of the child of mother earth.
She was found by a boy one evening,
At the young age of sixteen.
And upon a glance his heart stood still,
For in her face, he found true love’s fill.
Her hair held the sun’s gold beams.
Her eyes were nature’s beautiful green.
Her lips were a red rose’s flower.
And as she danced, she saw no minute, nor hour.
She danced with lovely ease and grace.
She sang in harmony with the birds in this magical place.
But when she saw the boy watching,
Her own heart stood very still.
And she opened her mouth to scream loudly and shrill.
And before he could speak,
The angel fled for the safety of the concealing trees.

He came back the next day,
To lay eyes on that angelic face.
Again, she danced and sang.
But his eyes saw something that left him wondering.
As she danced and moved,
The flowers grew.
Brown was replaced with green
In this enchanting scene.
When at last she saw the boy,
She did not run or scream.
“Who are you?” he asked, hoping to stop his wondering.
“I am the earth’s daughter.
My name is Cossette.
I am a nature spirit,
If you haven’t figured that out yet.”
And that, dear reader is how our lovers met.

Day after day, they met and talked.
Night after night, they danced and walked.
Many years passed, and Cossette stayed young.
She danced her dance, the nature spirit still sung.
The boy did not. The boy grew old.
His time was coming, the end of his road.
And come it soon did.
From death you can’t hide.
Our once young lovers, well one of them died.
Heartbroken Cossette, her tears never dried.
She stopped her dance, she stopped her song.
Green did not grow.
The birds were all gone.

Well, Death took pity.
Death took the girl’s life.
In taking her life, he ended her strife.
And now they both lay
In that magical place.
Their love is still there.
Their memories they shared.
The birds came back.
Never again, in green did the place lack.
Though Cossette is not there to dance,
The trees, they grow.
The branches are interlaced.
And forget me nots are securely placed.
In the place far away,
Where the breeze comes
And makes the trees sway.~

I'm not the best poet, but I try.
mostly my stuff is about my life and stuff, and I just wanted something a little more story like. We're studying romanticism in my english class, and I wanted to experiment a bit, while being inspired from what we were learning. But the story is all my own.
